Mission Papers Sent!

I’m going to start at the very beginning, a very good place to start, or so the song says!

“I need the medical papers so that I can send his papers to Salt Lake.”  The bishop told me.  I went home and told my son what the bishop had said and he told me that he had already turned them in when he had his interview.  He called the bishop to let him know that he thought he had turned in the medical papers already.  The bishop said he would look and make sure he didn’t have them and get back to us.

He then got back to us and he didn’t have them!  Great!  Time to go back to the doctor and dentist and hope we can get copies quickly.   It ended up not being as difficult as I had envisioned it to be, I do tend to blow things way up in my mind!

As soon as we got the new medical and dental papers I made three copies of each and put them where they wouldn’t get lost! (I think I still have them in that spot!) So suggestion number one, make copies of everything as soon as you get them, just in case!  My son made sure the bishop got the papers for sure this time and the papers were on their way to Salt Lake.

In two short weeks we would find out where my son would be serving his mission!  This was both exciting and nerve racking!  I remember that my first thoughts were I can’t believe this is really happening!  Have I taught and prepared him enough?  Am I ready to let my little boy go? (My “little” boy is 6’5”).

Does this sound familiar?  Any suggestions, comments, or stories will be greatly appreciated!
