MTC Here We Come! Part 2

After being set apart as a missionary, my son was now officially a missionary which meant he would have to live by the mission rules!  I was to be his first  “companion!”  That was just fine with me!

It was time for us to get on the road!  Time for him to say good- by to his dad.  That was the first of many tearful moments for me to come.  As we were driving away, I could see my husband standing at the kitchen window, and that brought tears to my eyes to know that he would not see his son for two years!  I could feel the love that a father had for his son!

We were on the road!  It is a six hour drive from our home to my uncles home in Salt Lake, where we would be staying the night.   The next six hours are one of my most fondest memories I had with my son!  Between him, my sister, and his girlfriend, I don’t think I have ever laughed so hard so much, as I did in that car that day!

That night my son and i got to sleep in the same room, something I haven’t done since he was a little boy.  We got to sleep on  a bunk bed!  He was on the top bunk!  That is also one of the best memories I have of my time with him!  He had me laughing so much, I’m sure we were keeping everyone up! I am so grateful that I had that time with him!
